They're just a click away.
One patient at a time.
Before Diplomat, there was Ideal Pharmacy. In 1973, Dale Hagerman helped to open the fourth store in a small chain in Flint, Michigan. Two years later, when his son, Phil Hagerman, graduated from college, Dale traded in his stock to buy the store. They were committed then in 1975, just like we are now, to believing that if they “take good care of the patients, the rest will fall into place.”
Today, Diplomat relies on its history as a company of proven innovators to set the standard for patient care. Over the years, we’ve grown to become the nation’s largest independent pharmacy, led by Phil Hagerman, CEO of Diplomat, and the rest of our executive team.
Our pharmacists may surprise you.
Traditionally, a pharmacist served one purpose: to safely provide medications prescribed by a physician. We believe that they can do much more.
Our compassion for our patients drives everything we do. That’s why we’re committed to going above and beyond for everyone. Our team approach to disease management and treatment helps our patients live healthier, happier lives.
Great care, everywhere.
In December 2010, we moved our corporate headquarters into the former GM Great Lakes Technology Centre in Flint, Michigan. The move allowed us to better help patients across the United States by providing:
- An advanced distribution hub that helps us ship medications nationwide
- A national compounding center, where we create customized prescriptions for physicians and veterinarians
- A comprehensive training and education center that helps our employees learn and grow as professionals
- A software development and data center that supports all aspects of our business.
In addition to our corporate headquarters, we also have locations in Flint, Michigan, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Chicago, Illinois, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Ontario, California.
We believe in giving back.
It’s important to us to use our position as the nation’s largest independent specialty pharmacy to give back to our local communities. We regularly encourage our staff to get involved in community service. In fact, it’s a big part of what we do at Diplomat.
