FLINT, Mich. – Nov. 1, 2013 – This week, Pharmacy Podcast released the first of six episodes created in partnership with Diplomat, the nation’s largest independent specialty pharmacy. Diplomat guests will appear on the podcast over a twelve-month period to share insights on specialty pharmacy, social responsibility, partnership opportunities and innovations.

“Diplomat has a long, proven history of innovating in the fields of specialty pharmacy and patient care,” said Justine Dolorfino, the company’s social media specialist. “Our commitment with Pharmacy Podcast is a great opportunity for us to share our perspectives and expertise with others. We’re excited to add our voice to the conversation over the next twelve months.”

In the first episode, Phil Hagerman, chief executive officer, Gary Kadlec, president, and Jeffrey Rowe, co-owner and executive vice president of operations, join Pharmacy Podcast’s Todd Eury for an introduction to Diplomat and the industry.

“Specialty pharmacy right now is one of the fastest-growing areas in pharmacy,” said Rowe. “It’s growing at about twenty-percent each year, and predictions are that by 2018, it will probably account for fifty-percent of the total drug spend in the United States. It’s a very exciting time to be in the field.”

Eury said his team is enthusiastic about the partnership. “We strive to keep a balance of subject matter experts on different pharmacy industry verticals, and we’re very excited to have Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy contribute their expertise and knowledge of an important facet of the pharmacy industry.”
