Diplomat recognized by Target, receives Partner of Excellence Award
FLINT, Mich.— July 25, 2014 — Target has presented Diplomat with its Partner of Excellence Award, an annual recognition for select vendor partners. The national retailer’s award acknowledges partners who demonstrate passion for performance, dedication to the Target brand, innovative leadership and superior business practices. Diplomat was one of two pharmacy vendors recognized with the Partner of Excellence award for 2013.
“We feel incredibly honored to receive this award,” said CEO Phil Hagerman. “Target Pharmacy offers a great service to their guests, and we’re happy to help bring that experience to people all over the U.S. with long-term, complex conditions.”
Target team members Dan Dumonsau and Jeremy Faulks presented the award at Diplomat’s recent quarterly Town Hall meeting. Representatives from both companies expressed that the partnership has been mutually beneficial, as each operates from a customer-centric perspective.
“Diplomat has been a phenomenal partner,” said Dan Dumonsau, Target Senior Buyer, Specialty Pharmacy and File Acquisition. “Diplomat’s focus to network Target Specialty Pharmacy with key stakeholders, jointly pursue opportunities and add features to our program have helped build TSP’s foundation. Those efforts were instrumental in our 2013 growth.”
Diplomat launched its Retail Specialty Network initiative over four years ago as an extension of its high-touch specialty pharmacy services. The partnership with Target has provided the opportunity for specialty services to be added to their existing retail pharmacy presence.
Diplomat serves patients and physicians in all 50 states as the nation’s largest independent specialty pharmacy. Headquartered in Flint, Mich., the company focuses on medication management programs for people with specialized or long-term medical needs, including oncology, immunology, hepatitis, multiple sclerosis, HIV, infusion therapy and many other serious or chronic conditions. Diplomat opened its doors in 1975 as a neighborhood pharmacy with one essential tenet: “Take good care of patients, and the rest falls into place.” Today, that tradition continues — always focused on increasing adherence and improving outcomes.
