Diplomat’s senior director of education and quality named President-elect of the Michigan Pharmacists Association for 2014
FLINT, Mich. — Nov. 19, 2013 — Diplomat, the country’s largest independent specialty pharmacy, is pleased to announce Jennifer Hagerman, Pharm D., AE-C, senior director of education and quality at Diplomat, was recently voted President-elect of the Michigan Pharmacists Association (MPA) for 2014 by the MPA membership.
“I am eager to continue Diplomat’s tradition of serving the pharmacy profession, enhancing the company’s strong ties with MPA and staying at the forefront of pharmacy issues as they relate to the state of Michigan,” said Hagerman. “I believe strongly in the mission of MPA and look forward to serving as President-elect.”
At Diplomat, Hagerman directs the industry leading Diplomat University, providing specialized training to both Diplomat employees and external professionals seeking education in the specialty pharmacy industry. Hagerman also oversees the company’s quality assurance program and serves as the director of Diplomat’s Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program, which is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
In addition to Hagerman, several other Diplomat employees are active within MPA, including its practice sections and local chapters. Those currently holding leadership positions include Michael Crowe, Pharm D., CSP, FMPA, clinical technology manager, who serves as Chairman of the Genesee County Pharmacists Association (GCPA), Robyn Parker, CPhT, Implementation Manager, who serves as President of the Michigan Society of Pharmacy Technicians (MSPT), and Stephanie LaPointe, Pharm.D, Clinical Education Coordinator, who serves as a member of the Michigan Society of Community Pharmacists (MSCP) Board of Directors.
Hagerman holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ferris State University and completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich. She has been a member of MPA for 11 years and has served the last three years as an executive board member and as an education taskforce member. In 2009, Hagerman was named the MPA’s Distinguished New Pharmacist Practitioner. She is also chair of the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) Education Committee, secretary for the Pharmacy Education Development and Lecture Series (PEDALS) Committee and executive board liaison for the GCPA.
